Hello and welcome to Cowork Brighton! We are so excited to begin this coworking journey in the heart of downtown Brighton! We know there are a lot of questions around coworking still, so here are some answers.

What is Coworking?

The dictionary definition of coworking is the use of an office or other working environment by people who are self-employed or working for different employers, typically so as to share equipment, ideas, and knowledge.

That’s the general idea of Cowork Brighton. We offer open and private workspace to anyone in need! Members have access to awesome amenities and work in an environment designed to encourage productivity and collaboration.

History of Coworking

Sharing office space isn’t really a new idea. In 2005, San Francisco opened the first official coworking space. Now, coworking office spaces are found all over the world! In fact, many successful companies, including Uber, were started at coworking spaces.

Before COVID, many businesses were starting to go virtual. By having their employees work at home, they could save a lot on office space. Especially now, after COVID, companies realized that most of the work could be done virtually. Yes, some people will go back to offices eventually, but many will stay working from home.

There is also a larger percentage of Americans than ever before working freelance or contract jobs, instead of full-time positions.

Cowork Brighton Offers Flexibility

Sometimes, working from home can be very lonely. Many times, it doesn’t make sense for entrepreneurs or even small startup companies to lease their own office space. It’s too expensive and can be difficult to invest in. Instead, many entrepreneurs end up working from a coffee house or from home, neither of which are great options.

Coworking offers so much more flexibility than a traditional office. With Cowork Brighton, you can choose what you need and what you can afford. Just need a spot to work on your laptop a couple of days a week? Try a membership. Prefer to have your own dedicated desk where you can leave a few things? We’ve got you. Need to hold some in-person or virtual meetings? We’ve got meeting rooms to fit your needs. Learn more about our different membership options and spaces.
